The components of the Sievers Benchwork create a framework that is sturdy and stable. The Sections fit onto the Leg Assembly Units, with the Cross Braces and Leg Braces adding extra strength. Sections may be free-standing or screwed directly to a wall on one side and supported by single Legs on the other. With the recommended Leg Assembly Unit spacing of approximately 3 feet, you will have a solid base for your roadbed. Any unevenness in your floor surface can be accommodated by simply adjusting the screw-threaded Leg Leveller for each Leg individually, if needed to ensure smooth train operation.
LEG ASSEMBLY UNITS
Must be ordered separately. Each unit consists of two ¾ x 3-1/2” X 40”/48” – long Legs, one Leg Brace, two Leg Levellers with t-nut inserts and hardware. The upper end of each Leg is dadoed for Section fit and support. The bottom end of each Leg has a pre-drilled hole to accommodate an adjustable Leg Leveller (7/16” to 1” adjustment). The Leg Brace provides stability, as well as a means to support a storage shelf, if desired. The width of the Leg Assembly Units corresponds to those of the Sections, and are available in 36”, 30”, 24”, 20”, 18”, 16” and 12” widths. Leg Assembly Units should be spaced approximately every 3 feet in your layout. (See figure on Module Planning Page for example.)
Custom Leg lengths are available. For lengths under 40″ use the listed price for 48″ Legs. (For example, L24 at 36″ – $36.50.) For lengths between 40″ and 48″, add $2.00 to listed price for 48″ Legs. (For example, L36 at 44″ – $39.00.) For lengths between 48″ and 56″, add $4.00 to listed price for 48″ Legs. Please note custom Leg length desired in the Order Notes section at checkout.
